Naturally Nadine is committed to providing the best hair health education and providing access to resources to help people to grow the healthiest heads of hair possible. That includes people who experiencing hair loss through thinning or who have medical conditions that have affected their hair growth as well as those with scalp conditions. We want them to know that this particular line is committed to helping them with what concerns them as well as providing education on how to care for and create styles at home, how to moisturize, and proper seasonal care. We are committed to education. That’s one of our primary focuses. And being affordable too!”
Our Inspiration
Grandma Nadine
Nadine Pullin Shinhoster studied at Madame Cargo’s cosmetology school. She pressed and curled hair in her home for decades, as she mothered six children and worked other jobs. She was a Godly and praying woman who cared about people, not just their hair. The beauty parlor in her home was a healing space of love, laughter, tears, and one-on-one friendships where ladies gathered to be coiffed by Missionary Shinhoster.
Women came to her as much for the hospitality and soothing conversation as they did for straightened hair. Tender-headed girls filled her chair at Easter, Christmas and other special occasions for a gentle touch and Shirley Temple curls. Miss Nadine never worked with or used chemicals in her hair or her clients’, only her pressing comb and curlers. Doing hair was ministry to her. She laid edges straight without a hint of heat damage, and at the end of the day, women left with smiles on their faces and sometimes answered prayers in their hearts.
Grandma Nadine was 74 when she died in 1991.
Aunt Sarah
Sarah Pullin Robinson is Nadine’s sister and the Pullin family matriarch at the age of 100. She and her husband, the late Rev. S. S. Robinson, Jr. always had a home filled with family, love, and friends. Their home was a favorite getaway for all who knew them. The door was always open, and since Naturally Nadine’s creation, Aunt Sarah’s special bond with her sister has led her to share the story of Naturally Nadine with all who would listen.
Aunt Sarah has always been Dr. A~s special grand aunt and surrogate grandmother. Having spent spent many summers in Jacksonville with Aunt Sarah and Uncle Stafford, Dr. A~ found a way for Sarah and Nadine to be reunited through this brand.
Sarah Pullin Robinson is Nadine’s sister and the Pullin family matriarch at the spry young age of 100. She and her husband, the late Rev. S. S. Robinson, Jr. never had biological children but always had a home filled with family, love, and friends. Their home was a favorite getaway, vacation, and respite location for all who knew them. The door was always open, and since Naturally Nadine’s creation, Aunt Sarah has shared the story of Naturally Nadine with all who would listen.
